What types of special diets does Sustainable Table support?
In addition to fulfilling the general dietary needs of the community, I specialize in meeting the needs of Paleo Lifestyle clients. Since the Paleo diet is by definition gluten-free, those who avoid or are sensitive to gluten can benefit from these Paleo meal options. While the service does not specialize in vegetarian meals, some vegetarian dishes are available. Whether you are following a specific diet, would like to try something new, or just want to include vegetarian dishes more often, please discuss with me so that I can provide you with options.

Why are there two different fees for a plate date?
The Service Fee is for the services provided: menu planning and research, shopping for local and sustainable ingredients, ingredient preparation, meal preparation, storage and instructions, and clean up. The Market Basket Fee is for the fresh ingredients purchased for your plate date: meats, poultry, vegetables, fruits, condiments, canned or dry goods.

Why do the meals have to be prepared in my home?
Health codes require that a personal chef prepare meals either in the client’s home or in a licensed and inspected commercial kitchen. Preparing your meals in your own home adds to the convenience of the service and eliminates the need for any delivery or pick up logistics.

Can I purchase my own groceries/ingredients for the plate date?
Sustainable Table personal chef service includes: menu planning and research, shopping for local and sustainable ingredients, ingredient preparation, meal preparation, storage and instructions, and clean up. As the selection of ingredients is important for delicious meals and the success of the plate date, it is important that I personally include this task as part of the process and service.

How will the menu for my family be determined?
As a new client, you will complete a thorough client assessment which will provide me with many details about your dietary goals, likes and dislikes. Using this detailed information, I will take these details into consideration and provide you will a selection of options to choose from. If you are a seasonal subscription client, a new menu will be provided in advance of each week. Along the way, if you find a dish that you really enjoy, just ask me to repeat the dish (weekly, monthly). There are lots of options and you will always find options that you will love.
